Introductory Nuclear Physics
About the Book
The first four chapters of the book are about the discovery and properties of the nuclei. Rutherford’s scattering, nuclear mass, charge, electric quadruple moment, nuclear spin, magnetic moment, basic constituents of nuclei, binding energy, nuclear forces and other topics are covered in these four chapters. Cosmic rays and its detection are covered in next two chapters. Almost all elementary particles were discovered in cosmic rays. The elementary particles are discussed in chapter ten in details. Nuclear fission, nuclear reactors and nuclear fusion are covered in chapter seven, eight and nine respectively while accelerators and nuclear particle and radiation detectors are covered in chapter eleven and twelve.
